In the Spring of 2018, I visited several makerspaces and workshops in Sydney and spoke with the makers, students, and technicians working within them. These conversations focused on the machines, tools and materials available to use as well as the kinds of waste materials that are generated during their making processes. To create this chair, I collected multiple different types of waste including plywood off cuts, failed PLA 3D prints, and acrylic laser cutter remnants and used them to prototype some basic chair forms.
